The first university building constructed on Maryland Parkway was Maude Frazier Hall which was built in 1957. It was torn down in January 2009 and replaced with the Pioneer Wall. This wall contains a portion of the original building and a bust of Maude Frazier along with other notable figures who have had an impact on education at UNLV.
